Bath Police Station, Lewis House, Bath
Project Summary.
Client – Avon & Somerset Police
Value – £167K
Programme – 8 Weeks
Our works consisted of the creation of Bath Police Station that had been absent from the City of Bath for several years. The space within the existing council building of the occupied Lewis House was a major achievement for Avon and Somerset Police and something that had been planned for many years.
The works included the strip out of the former council offices and re-configuration to create a shared facility for both the neighbourhood policing teams and council services. The upper office floors and local council help desk remained fully operational throughout the refurbishment and careful management was required to ensure segregation and noise levels were strictly adhered. The final task included the mounting of the traditional blue lantern on its façade
Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner Mark Shelford added: “This is a joyous day and it’s been a real team effort. I think symbols are really important and there is something about having a police station that gives the public a feeling of security within their City”
