Located on the main campus at Newton Saint Loe, The Commons Building is the Universities main teaching building, housing lecture halls, study spaces, staff offices and Media & TV Studios.

As the University embarked upon its new teaching year for 2019/20 these alteration works to the second floor break out/meeting space brought specific challenges associated with undertaking construction work within a live educational environment.

Creative Construction were instructed to alter and adapt the existing layout to provide a dedicated meeting and presentation space, from the original open plan format. The works were carried out with full consideration given to the live environment, particularly understanding of the large volume of students and staff (circa 4000 occupants) within the building, as the University commences its new teaching year after the summer break.
