Former Iceland, Cambridge House, Bath.

Project Summary.

Client – State Street Trustees Limited (as depositary of the CT UK Property Fund ICVC)
Location – Cambridge House, Henry Street, Bath
Value – £95k
Programme – 9 Weeks

This project consisted of a former Iceland supermarket in the centre of Bath that we completely stripped out back to its shell with minor refurbishment works to the existing welfare area. There was a number of factors making this an challenging project, including limited vehicle access for deliveries, limited external space for skips and work activities, and segregating the general public/pedestrians in a busy location. However, work timings, delivery methods and waste removal was adapted to suit, ensuring the project ran as smoothly as possible.

The mechanical and electrical works to the unit included re-wiring small power and lighting, new temporary lighting to the sales area, new ventilation and a new point of use water heater. Other works included re-decoration, new ceilings and new vinyl flooring to the welfare area complete with a new kitchenette. The existing aluminium shopfront was repaired and re-coated internally and externally and the external stonework was steam cleaned and repaired. Two steel staircases were also fabricated and installed and structural support posts were also designed, fabricated and installed to the curtain walling. The concrete slab to the loading bay was repaired and an epoxy coating was applied.
